The Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Arizona Manufacturers Council have announced the top three finalists for this year’s Hottest Thing Made in Arizona competition, an annual contest celebrating the innovation, talent, and economic impact of Arizona’s manufacturing sector.
The finalists are Honeywell Aerospace’s 131-9 Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), Axon’s Body 4 Camera, and Lucid Motors’ Gravity SUV, products that represent some of the state’s most advanced products across aviation, public safety, and electric vehicle manufacturing.
“The finalists this year highlight Arizona’s incredible manufacturing diversity—from aerospace and defense to next-generation transportation and public safety technology,” Arizona Manufacturers Council Executive Director Grace Appelbe said. “Each of these companies exemplifies the world-class innovation and talent that make Arizona one of the fastest-growing manufacturing hubs in the nation.”
Axon Body 4 Camera
Designed and built in Scottsdale, the Axon Body 4 is the latest generation of the company’s body-worn camera technology. Equipped with artificial intelligence features that enhance safety, efficiency, and accountability, the device helps protect both officers and communities while reinforcing Axon’s position as a global leader in public safety innovation.
Honeywell Aerospace 131-9 Auxiliary Power Unit (APU)
Manufactured in Phoenix, the 131-9 APU is a small engine located in the tail of an aircraft that serves as a backup generator, providing power for lights, instruments, and air systems when the main engines are not running. Trusted by airlines around the world, Honeywell’s APU is a global standard in aviation safety and reliability.
Lucid Gravity SUV
Produced at Lucid’s advanced manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, the all-electric Gravity SUV delivers up to 450 miles of range and 828 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. With the ability to add 200 miles of charge in 12 minutes, the Gravity showcases Arizona’s growing leadership in electric vehicle design and production.
Now in its third year, the Hottest Thing Made in Arizona contest is part of the Chamber and AMC’s celebration of Manufacturing Month and a broader effort to spotlight Arizona-made products and the companies driving growth in one of the state’s most vital industries.
Voting for the top three finalists is open until October 28 at hottestthingaz.com/vote. The winner will be announced at the Arizona Chamber’s Manufacturer of the Year Awards on October 28 at Republic National Distributing Company in Phoenix.
