2022 Arizona Election: Dates and Deadlines to Know
The Arizona General Election is fast-approaching, with early ballots set to begin hitting mailboxes a week from today. Whether you’re a vote-by-mail voter or prefer to show up to the polls, here are the key dates and deadlines to know to make sure your ballot counts:
Deadline to register: October 11 at 11:59 PM is the last day for voter registrations. Arizonans can check their registration status or register to vote at my.arizona.vote. Voters in Maricopa County can also check their status through the County Recorder here.
Planning to vote early? Counties will mail early ballots for voters on the Active Early Voting List on October 12. Vote centers for in-person early voting will also open on this day and drop boxes for early ballots will be available. Voters in Maricopa County can find vote center locations and hours of operation at Locations.Maricopa.Vote.
The deadline to request a mail-in ballot and to sign up for the Active Early Voting List (AEVL) is October 28 at 5:00 PM. Arizonans can find more information here. Voters in Maricopa County can sign up for the AEVL or request a one-time early ballot at Request.Maricopa.Vote.
November 1 is the recommended deadline for early voters to mail back their ballots. After this day, voters can drop off their early ballots at their County Recorder’s office or at any drop box or vote center location in the county.
Election Day is November 8 and all ballots must be received by 7:00 PM to be counted. Arizonans voting in person must present a valid government issued ID that includes their name, photo, and address. Examples include an Arizona driver’s license, an Arizona non-operating identification license, or a tribal enrollment card.
