ISM Raceway struts new renovations in NASCAR semifinals

Newly renovated ISM Raceway in Phoenix hosted the Can-Am 500 NASCAR Cup semifinals last weekend and showed fans why it’s now the best raceway in NASCAR.

Last month, ISM Raceway finished renovations and revealed dazzling new additions to enhance the NASCAR experience. After the $178 million project, the raceway sported an upgraded infield, improved amenities and fan sections, and redecorated seating. These additions allow for a more integrated fan experience and will help to attract more people to the raceway.

ISM Raceway representative Rodney Scearce highlights the infield – where fans can get close to the drivers and pit-crews – as one of the best improvements. “The infield experience was unlike any other that I’ve ever seen,” Scearce asserts. “I thought it was incredible, and all of the feedback I heard from the fans was that it was incredible.”

The raceway also sports other additions that bring fans close to the action. For example, the renovated victory lane allows fans to stand right next to the track during the final lap and cheer on the drivers. Additionally, the new interactive garages bring fans within feet of crewmen working on their cars throughout the weekend. For those who want to relax and hang out with their friends and family, the stadium has a new beer garden, tequila bar, and other amenities.

Scearce explains that ISM Raceway is now the best place to watch NASCAR for both die-hard fans and casual viewers. “It is the most innovative raceway in the nation,” he states. “I even heard some fans and media talking about it – if you want to go see a NASCAR race right now, this is the place to do it. It’s on another level – as far as innovation and fan access, that is all ISM Raceway.”

According to Scearce, ISM hopes the facility can become a venue for events other than NASCAR. He believes that because of the size and quality of the features in the stadium, “the opportunities are endless for event-hosting.” Although they do not have any specific plans for event partnerships, he highlights that ISM is eager to work with other parties to bring more experiences to citizens across the Valley.  

Many fans said that after visiting ISM Raceway, NASCAR was their favorite sport, and that if anyone else comes to the facility, it would be theirs too. All sports fans – whether NASCAR fanatics or otherwise – should take the chance to visit ISM Raceway and experience the unparalleled features it has to offer.
