Arizona Chamber cheers election wins for pro-business candidates, ballot measures

The Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry says it is pleased with the outcome of several races in Tuesday’s election, which the leading business group believes will solidify the state’s position as having one of the country’s strongest economies.

“We still likely have a few days to go before we can definitively determine the outcome of several races across the state, but as for the results that we do know, the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry is pleased that so many pro-business legislators from both parties will be at the state Capitol next year,” Chamber President and CEO Danny Seiden said. “We look forward to working with them to advance legislation that ensures a more economically competitive Arizona and spurs job creation.”

Judicial retention

Seiden said he was especially gratified that two state Supreme Court justices were retained by voters and will continue to serve on the state’s highest court.

Seiden commented on the outcome of various state, county, and local ballot measures.

“Voters chose to make their neighborhoods safer and hold city governments more accountable, ensure we have the infrastructure to maintain our position as an economic leader, and to protect the jobs created by one of the state’s leading industries.”

“By approving Prop 486, Maricopa County voters have secured the resources needed to keep our community colleges competitive and accessible without additional taxes. Prop 486 is a smart step forward, ensuring these institutions can continue preparing students for Arizona’s evolving workforce and supporting the local economy.”
