Dexcom nabs Hottest Thing Made in Ariz. recognition

This year’s Hottest Thing Made in Arizona contest came to a close last week, with the Dexcom G7 Continuous Glucose Monitor taking the top spot. 

What is the contest:

The “Hottest Thing Made in Arizona” contest celebrates the state’s vibrant manufacturing sector by honoring innovative products crafted within Arizona. This competition showcases contributions both from major manufacturers and smaller innovators, highlighting the diverse achievements within the state’s manufacturing industry.

What is the product:

The Dexcom G7 is a straightforward continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system that provides real-time glucose readings directly on your smartphone or smartwatch—without the need for fingersticks. It allows users to effortlessly track their glucose levels and trends, enabling smarter, timely decisions around food and activity to manage diabetes more effectively. The G7 can be used to monitor both diabetes type 1 and type 2. Dexcom, which makes the device in Mesa, has been a leader in glucose biosensing since 1999.

What does it do: 

The Dexcom G7 offers customizable alerts that notify users up to 20 minutes before a low glucose event (Urgent Low Soon alert) and when the user’s glucose levels are too high. These personalized alerts provide reliability, ensuring that users are aware when it’s time to take action to manage their glucose levels.
