Statewide officials to be inaugurated next week

On Monday, the new Arizona statewide elected officials will be inaugurated into their elected positions.

The inauguration ceremony will be held outside the old State Capitol and will include the swearing-in of all six state elected officials, followed by the Taste of Arizona Success 2019 and Explore Arizona Fair.

Gov. Doug Ducey (R-AZ); Secretary of State-elect Katie Hobbs (D-AZ); Attorney General Mark Brnovich (R-AZ); Treasurer-elect Kimberly Yee (R-AZ); Superintendent of Public Instruction-elect Kathy Hoffman (D-AZ); and Mine Inspector Joe Hart (R-AZ) will all be inducted by Chief Justice Scott Bales.

The inauguration will start at 10:00 a.m. with music performed by the Arizona National Guard 108th Army Band.

The ceremony will also include remarks from the Mayor of the City of Douglas, Robert Uribe, the family of the late Congressman Ed Pastor, as well as an F-16 Falcon Flyover and tribal blessings.

After the ceremony the Taste of Arizona Success 2019 will take place on the Capitol Lawn, showcasing ten “unique restaurants” in the state that will all be serving free samples.

Across the street at the Wesley Bolin Plaza, guests can Explore Arizona. The event allows participants to mingle with local sports teams and their mascots, discover cultural attractions, and learn more about the “exciting activities” of state agencies.
